Prior to joining Newbrook Capital Properties, Mr. Bender was a Vice President at JRK Property Holdings, an NMHC top 50 owner and acquirer of multifamily properties. Mr. Bender joined JRK in 2018 and was involved in the acquisition of over $2 billion in multifamily properties, comprising 25+ transactions and 8,000 units. While at JRK, Mr. Bender oversaw the West Cost, Central, and Southern regions of the United States, spearheading the company’s initial exposure in six states and ten submarkets. Mr. Bender assisted in deploying over $550 million of equity from four multifamily funds and worked on the sale or refinance of 30+ multifamily assets. Prior to joining JRK, Mr. Bender was a summer analyst at Houlihan Lokey in the Mergers and Acquisitions division. Mr. Bender graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance and Real Estate from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business.
Prior to joining Newbrook Capital Properties, Mr. Donahue was a Senior Director at Rithm Capital, a $32 billion dollar asset manager focused on real estate and financial services. During his time at Rithm, Mr. Donahue managed capital formation and investor relations efforts with institutional investors globally. Prior to Rithm, Mr. Donahue served as Vice President, and Head of HNW & Family Office Distribution at Cadre, a technology-enabled real estate platform backed by Goldman Sachs, Andreessen Horowitz, and SL Green. During his four years at Cadre, the team committed $3 billion in total transaction volume across multifamily, office, industrial and hospitality, resulting in over $400 million of gross distributions to investors. Mr. Donahue began his career at Evercore ISI where he spent four years covering hedge funds, mutual funds and pension funds in New York and the Midwest. Mr. Donahue graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management.
Ms. Jenal has been Controller and Office Manager of Newbrook Capital Advisors since 2013, and has significant experience in fund accounting, investor relations, and overseeing vendor relationships including IT and systems management. Prior to joining the Firm in June 2013, Ms. Jenal was the Office Manager at Studio Dror where she had worked since July 2008. Ms. Jenal received a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business in 2017 and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classical Archaeology & Ancient History from Franklin & Marshall College in 2008.
Prior to joining Newbrook Capital Properties, Mr. Gancman was an Analyst at LivCor, Blackstone's multi-family asset management platform for their portfolio of over 400 properties comprising more than 150,000 units in markets across the United States. Mr. Gancman oversaw operations for over 6,600 units in 7 markets totaling over $2B in total value while executing across Blackstone's three multifamily REITs. Prior to joining full-time, Mr. Gancman was a summer analyst at LivCor in FP&A. Mr. Gancman graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the Olin Business School and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychological & Brain Sciences from the College of Arts & Sciences.
Joel Klein has worked for more than 50 years in law, private industry, and government. From Jan 1, 2017, until June 30, 2024, he was at Oscar Health Corporation first as Chief Policy and Strategy Officer and then as a Senior Advisor. In 2021, he co-founded Retromer Therapeutics, a biotech company dedicated to finding a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease, where he is currently CEO. Prior to that, from 2011-2016, he served as Executive Vice President of NewsCorporation and CEO of Amplify, its education company.
From 2002 through 2010, Klein was Chancellor of the New York City Department of Education where he oversaw a system of over 1,600 schools with 1.1 million students and 136,000 employees. He implemented system-wide transformative changes that resulted in significant increases in student performance. He was instrumental in bringing high-performing charter schools to New York City, resulting in over two hundred thousand students now attending those schools.
Before becoming chancellor, Klein was an Executive Vice President at Bertelsmann, a global media company from 2000-2002. He also served as Assistant Attorney General in charge of the U.S. Department of Justice’s antitrust division from 1996-2000 and deputy counsel to President William J. Clinton from 1993-1995. Prior to that he practiced law in Washington, D.C. and taught at the Georgetown University Law Center.
Klein has won many honors and awards, including numerous honorary degrees from major universities. In 1999, Time Magazine named him as one of ten “People Who Mattered,” and in 2009, U.S. News & World Report named him one of “America’s Best Leaders.”
Klein currently serves as Lead Director on the board of BXP, a publicly traded real estate company, and previously served on the board of News Corporation. He is also on the board of directors of Juul Labs and Sunstone Therapies, both non-public companies, as well as on the board of charitable organizations, including St. John’s College, The Mind, Brain, Behavior Institute at Columbia University, Students First New York, and ExcelinEd.
Joel was born in New York City and graduated from William Cullen Bryant High School in Queens. He received a BA, magna cum laude, from Columbia University and a JD, magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School. He is married to Nicole Seligman and has a daughter, Julia Klein.
A visionary and leading force in the U.S. and worldwide hospitality industry, John Ceriale is Founder and President of Prospect Advisors, which was established in 1998. Since its founding, Prospect Advisors has been the exclusive hotel advisor on hospitality investments to the Blackstone Group, the largest owner of hospitality assets in the world. Prospect Advisors also does select work with a number of other private equity companies in the hospitality field.
Between 1998 and 2004, Ceriale played a leading role in Blackstone’s acquisition of several top brands and properties, among them Wyndham Hotels & Resorts; iconic London properties Claridge’s, The Savoy, The Berkeley, and The Connaught and Boca Resorts, Inc. As both the creator and the managing partner of the Savoy Group and LXR Luxury Resorts, Ceriale worked with many internationally acclaimed architects, interior designers, and chefs to inject new energy and excitement into some of the world’s finest properties. Among Ceriale’s “dream team” collaborators on these projects were Thierry Despont, David Collins, Barbara Barry, Gordon Ramsay, Tony Chi, Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Alexandra Champalimaud, David Rockwell, Angela Hartnett and Masaharu Morimoto.
In July 2007, Ceriale was a prime mover in Blackstone’s acquisition of Hilton Hotels. With the acquisition of Hilton, Blackstone brought its portfolio of hotel rooms worldwide to 600,000. He is also the founder of the London hotel brand, of which there is currently one property: The London West Hollywood at Beverly Hills. Ceriale was an advisor on two of the biggest deals in hospitality of 2014: the sale of New York’s iconic Waldorf Astoria, and the Blackstone Group’s purchase and sale of the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Additionally, Ceriale and Prospect Advisors oversaw the $50 million renovation of a historic landmarked Paris building, a Blackstone Group asset, which became the Hilton Paris Opera in February 2015.
In July 2011, Ceriale endowed the John and Melissa Ceriale Professorship of Hospitality Human Resources at Cornell’s School of Hotel Administration and is working to endow the Cornell Institute for Hospitality Labor and Employment Relations. Additionally, in June 2017, Ceriale was named to the Board of Trustees for Cornell University, on which he is serving through 2024. Ceriale also is on the Cornell School of Hotel Administration’s Dean’s Advisory Board, whose goal is to ensure that the school continues to best meet the needs of the world’s largest industry.
Ceriale graduated from Loyola College in Baltimore with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Management from the University of Nevada Hotel School.
Rob Reiskin is a real estate investment leader with more than 30 years of experience across the UK, Europe, North America, and the Middle East. He most recently served as Chief Investment Officer of Real Estate at the Abu Dhabi Investment Council (ADIC).
Prior to ADIC, Rob was Chief Executive Officer of Delin Property, a vertically integrated real estate investment manager focused on the logistics sector in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Spain. Before Delin, he was a partner at Round Hill Capital, an investment manager specializing in the multifamily residential sector, and at Heitman, a global real estate investment manager. Earlier in his career, Rob served as Head of Investments at Curzon Global Partners / AEW Europe, helping scale the firm from its de novo launch to over €10 billion in assets under management during his tenure.
Rob holds a BA in Economics from Trinity College, where he was a member of the Board of Fellows, and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he received the William Zucker Award for outstanding scholarship in real estate.
Originally from Boston and a long-time London resident, Rob brings a truly global perspective. He holds dual citizenship in the United States and Ireland.
